What I like best, is this Mix comes in a tidy 4 0z. resealable can that yields 10 to 18 waffles. A 1/2 can is perfect for 2 people, with a few waffles left over for freezing (of course)!
The only ingredients necessary to combine are:
5 Tbs. unsalted butter, melted
2 cups warm water
2 1/2 cups Waffle Mix
QUICK TIP – Always add a splash of really good Vanilla Extract to your waffle batter to take the flavor to the next level.
Williams-Sonoma really got the chemistry exact on this one – using warm water and letting the batter stand at room temperature for about 15 minutes is well worth the wait. The result is a lighter more substantial waffle that is golden & crispy on the outside, with fluffy deliciousness on the inside.
Out of respect for the quality of the Mix, we topped our waffles with Vermont Maple Syrup with Vanilla Bean. As if pure maple syrup couldn’t get any better. Butternut Mountain Farm infuses this award winning syrup while it is still hot with a sliced vanilla bean for an incredible complex flavor. You can seriously see little vanilla beans floating in the syrup bottle – yes – it is that good, especially when served warm.
I found that the waffles have a unique melt in your mouth taste from the malted barley, almond oil & vanilla in the Mix. Slathered warm butter and pure maple syrup goodness – makes this breakfast into layered flavor heaven. Until you actually taste it for yourself, you will have to take my word for it.
While the Mix + Syrup may seem a bit pricey, this decadent flavor combination is well worth the splurge once in a while. Trust me when I say, these are the best waffles you will ever have.
Go ahead and treat yourself or someone you love!
Note: The Vermont Maple Syrup with Vanilla Bean was also purchased at Williams-Sonoma. However, I couldn’t find it on their website, so make sure if you walk in – you look for it there too!
